“Talk to yourself like someone you love.” This quote by Brene Brown has become a personal mantra for me and the first point in my self love checklist. It reminds me to be kind to myself in times of difficulty.

Life can be tough, and it’s easy to fall into the trap of negative self-talk and self-doubt. But the truth is, we all deserve love and respect, which starts with ourselves.

Practicing self-love involves accepting ourselves for who we are, forgiving ourselves when we make mistakes, and choosing to focus on the positive.

With practice, self-love can become a natural, integral part of our daily lives, bringing positive impacts on our overall well-being.

To start this beautiful journey towards self-love, here’s a “ self love checklist” of simple actions you can take.

Use This Self-Love Checklist to Find Some Inspiration

  • Clean up your living space and create a comfortable and beautiful environment for yourself.
  • Hang a photo of yourself as a child on your mirror and remind yourself to treat that cute kid with kindness and compassion.
  • Aim for 5000 steps a day to take care of your physical health.
  • Create a playlist of your favorite songs and listen to them during walks or when you need a mood boost.
  • Write down three things you’re grateful for each day.
  • Treat yourself to your favorite food or drink without guilt or shame.
  • Practice a mini-meditation or deep breathing exercise before bed to calm your mind as well as promote better sleep.
  • Create a vision board or write down your goals to stay motivated and focused.
  • Wear an outfit that makes you feel confident and beautiful.
  • Take a solo trip or day trip to a new place to explore and discover new things.
  • Volunteer for a cause that you care about.
  • Treat yourself to a small luxury, such as a piece of jewelry or a fancy pair of shoes.
  • Take a social media detox and limit your screen time to reduce stress and anxiety.
  • Write a love letter to yourself, expressing gratitude and appreciation for who you are.
  • Create your own 30 day self love checklist.

Remember, practicing self-love is a personal journey, and what works for one person may not work for another. The key is to find what makes you feel good and do more of it. Most importantly, self-love is not a one-time thing; it’s a lifelong journey. Embrace your unique qualities and quirks, and learn to love and accept yourself as you are.
